The Good Old Days

In days prehistoric, when life was euphoric and innocence easily found,

Before black and white, when we knew wrong from right, and the doller was still called the pound,

When riding a horse, was the major recourse, in moving from point A to B,

Computerised sport, hadn't even been thought, and digital meant just a finger or three.

Colour TV had not come to be and radar was only a dream,

A lunar excursion was a Wellsian version of a fairy tale of the extreme.

Those were the days when the latest toy craze was a top or some marbles to play,

When hopscotch was king and skipping the thing that kids did at close of the day.

Some kids were fat, but not many at that, Activity kept most of them slim.

But now the obese, are on the increase, the outlook is bordering on grim.

So get up and move, get in the groove, shake off some of those Joules.

Get on the run, join in the fun, don't you know exercise rules?
