Not For Us

Humans are probably the most arrogant species on the planet. Too many of us grow up thinking of ourselves as "special", not subject to the "laws" of Nature. But of course that is not the case. We are but another experiment in the long, unfolding story that is evolution. The universe existed long before our particular experiment began, and will continue to exist long after our species has departed. Our own individual lives somehow mimic this same self-delusion. The universe was not made for us, no matter how much we might delude ourselves.
